HENRY EDWARD MCDONALD, age 84, of Atlanta, Georgia, formerly of Banks County, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2010. Mr. McDonald was born in Banks County, on October 15, 1925, to the late Guy Odessa and Ida Owens McDonald. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II. Mr. McDonald was a retired letter carrier for U.S. Postal Service with over 35 years of service. Survivors include wife, Moise Coker McDonald, Atlanta, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Joseph Laurenzo, Atlanta; GA, grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Paul and Erinn Laurenzo, Woodstock, Georgia; and 2 great-grandchildren, Autum and Anthony Laurenzo, Woodstock, GA. He was the last of his immediate family. Graveside service will held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 1, 2010, at Nails Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jim Howell officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Habersham County American Legion Post #84, Rabun County DAV Chapter 15 and the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., Friday, October 1, 2010, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA.
