Hazel Cross Turpin Galloway

HAZEL CROSS TURPIN GALLOWAY, age 92, of Clarkesville, GA, died Thursday, October 11, 2007 at the Habersham County Medical Center. Mrs. Galloway was born on April 19, 1915 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late John W. and Alice Shirley Cross. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, H. M. Turpin and, second husband, Harland Galloway as well as a daughter, Sharon Turpin Williams. Mrs. Galloway was the oldest member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was a retired lunch room worker at Woodville Elementary School. Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law: Debbie and Kenneth Edwards, Gainesville, GA; her sons and daughters-in-law: Stan and Karen Turpin, Kenneth and Lou H. Turpin, and Bruce and Lou M. Turpin, all of Clarkesville, GA; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jan Devereaux officiating. The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday.
