Haymon "Hammer" Johnson

HAYMON "HAMMER" JOHNSON, age 44, of Alto, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2012, following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Hammer was born in Seneca, South Carolina, on March 27, 1968, to Geneva Sue Johnson of Toccoa and Neville Johnson of Demorest. He was an employee of the MarJac Poultry Company. In addition to his mother and father, he is survived by his wife, Christine Masters Johnson, Alto, GA; daughter, Lisa Hayes, Cornelia, GA; sons, Joshua Johnson, Alto, GA, Kenneth Butcher, Mt. Airy, GA, Tracey Butcher, Alto, GA, and Robbie Butcher, Demorest, GA; brothers, Grady Johnson, Jim Johnson, and Louie Johnson, all of Toccoa, GA, Joseph Johnson, Demorest, GA, and Wessley Johnson, Mt. Airy, GA; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia, with Rev. Kendall Mann and Rev. Terry Benfield officiating. Interment will follow in the Johnson Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-10 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at the funeral home.
