Harvey Dorsey Oliver

HARVEY DORSEY OLIVER, age 59, of Alto, Georgia went home to be with our Lord on Friday, July 22, 2011. Mr. Oliver was born in Cleveland, Georgia on October 13, 1951. He was the son of Ruth Wilson Smith of Alto, Georgia and the late Otis Oliver. Mr. Oliver was a proud United States Army Veteran. He retired as a supervisor with Gainesville Limestone. Mr. Oliver was a member of the Old Path Holiness Church in Clayton, Georgia. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Marcia Oliver, Alto, GA; daughter, Crystal Gaylena Dodd, Cullowhee, NC; son, Joshua Dorsey Oliver, Alto, GA; sister, Wanda Whitfield, Alto, GA; step-brother, Charles Smith, Alto, GA; one grandchild, Joshua Spencer Oliver and 9 step-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Pastor Joel Bright officiating. Interment will follow in the Enon Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors provided. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 25, 2011 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
