Harold Holbrook

HAROLD EUGENE HOLBROOK, age 80, a long time resident of Mt. Airy, GA, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2008. Mr. Holbrook was born on October 23, 1927, in Habersham County, GA to the late Clarence P. and Lois Missouri Yearwood Holbrook and grandson of the late England and Etta Cornelia Edmonds Yearwood. He was also preceded in death by the following siblings: Etta Louise Bowen, John "Jack" Lewis Holbrook, and Horace Clarence Holbrook. Mr. Holbrook was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Demorest, GA and a World War II Veteran. He was a retired mechanic. Mr. Holbrook is survived by his wife of 56 years, Hazel Evans Holbrook. Harold is also survived by five children, Dinah and Ricky Willis, High Springs, FL, Donna and Harold LaCount, Griffin, GA, Diann and Randy Willis, Fond du lac,WI, Danita and Richard Davenport and David and Cindy Holbrook, all of Cleveland, GA, fifteen grandchildren, Lynn and David Boynton, Omaha, NE, Ricky and Toni Willis, Palatka, FL, Anna and Ross Beasley and Philip and Katie LaCount, all of Griffin, GA, Jennifer and David Hobbs, Elizabeth Willis, Randy Willis II, and Ethan Willis, all of Fond du, WI, Adriana Holbrook, Brittany King and Douglas Davenport, all of Cleveland, GA; Scott Gorman, Tuscon, AZ; Heather Holbrook, MaKayla Holbrook, and Jared Holbrook, all of Cleveland, GA; Four Great grandchildren: Brittany Boynton and Emily Boynton, both of Omaha, NE; Emma Beasley, Griffin, GA; Tailor Hobbs, Fond du lac, WI; 4 brothers and sisters: Juanita and Lloyd Partin, Cleveland, GA; Joyce Payne, Cornelia, GA; Rev. Donald & Ruby Holbrook, Mt. Airy, GA; Audrey & Minyard Hulsey, Mt. Airy, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Demorest, GA, with Rev. Russ Barker officiating. Burial will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
