Harold Campbell

HAROLD E. CAMPBELL JR., age 87 of Clarkesville, GA passed away on Friday, May 22, 2009. Mr. Campbell was born in Conway, New Hampshire on November 29, 1921 to the late Harold E. Campbell Sr., and Jenny Lynn Robinson Campbell. He was a member of the Conway United Methodist Church. Mr. Campbell was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was a life member of the Grant Reeves V.F.W. Post #7720. Mr. Campbell was also a life member of the American Legion and the Mountaineer Chapter of EX P.O.W.'s. He was retired from United Nuclear Corporation with over 25 years of dedicated service. Survivors include wife, Mary K. Campbell, Clarkesville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Harrison Alley, Clarkesville, GA; son, Bruce E. Campbell, Charleston, S.C. Mr. Campbell was the last of his immediate family. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Monday, May 25, 2009 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with Rev. Steve Doran officiating. Burial will follow in the V.F.W. Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Habersham County American Legion Post #84, the Rabun County DAV Chapter #15, and the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720. The family will receive friends at 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, 2009 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA.
