Grace Darnell Williams

GRACE DARNELL WILLIAMS, age 86, wife of Rev. Luther Williams, Baldwin, GA died Sunday, February 17, 2008 at a private health care facility. Born in Habersham County on February 25, 1921, she was a daughter of the late John and Katie Taylor Darnell. She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Thurmond, Paul, Clarence, and Nace Darnell; and sisters: Beulah Murphy and Addie Barrett. Mrs. Williams was retired from Scovill Mfg. and was a member of Currahee Baptist Church. Survivors include: her husband: Rev. Luther Williams, Baldwin, GA; her daughter and son-in-law: Jean and James Meeler, Cornelia, GA; her sons: J. Williams, Salt Lake City, UT; and Darrell L. Williams, Baldwin, GA; 1 granddaughter: Kristy Meeler, Athens, GA. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Rev. Roy Lee Mitchell and Rev. Larry Forrester officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the South Chapel on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 pm to 9 pm. Arrangements are in the care of the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA
