Grace Williams Smith

GRACE WILLIAMS SMITH, age 97, of Demorest, GA, died Sunday, June 25, 2006 in Vidalia, Georgia. Mrs. Smith was born on October 21, 1908 in Habersham County, Georgia. She was a daughter of the late James and Margaret Sargent Williams and was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Ray Smith and a son, Ervin Smith.. Mrs. Smith was a charter member of the Demorest Church of God and was honored for her fifty years of service and faithfulness to that Church. She was also a Sunday School member at the Hazel Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for a number of years. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a broom maker. Survivors include: her sister, Jewell Williams Anderson, Demorest, GA; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, with Rev. Stephen Leonard, Rev. Billy Burrell, and Rev. Darvin Slaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Hazel Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. just before the funeral hour on Wednesday.
