Glynn Venson Worley

Glynn Venson Worley, age 93, of Clarkesville, GA, died Thursday, January 28, 2010. Mr. Worley was born in Lakemont in Rabun County, Georgia in 1916. He was the son of the late Keever and Minnie Worley, and was their last surviving child. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard in 1937 where he served for three years. In 1940, he joined the U.S. Navy serving in the Pacific until the end of World War II in 1945. When he returned home, he worked for the Georgia Game and Fish Commission at the Georgia State Capital in Atlanta, and then returned to Habersham County where he married his wife, Sarah Woodall Worley. They built a home and resided there 61 years until his death raising their two daughters and enjoying the wonderful North Georgia community and countryside. He was active with the Tallulah Falls Lion's Club for more than a decade, and was an active outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing as well as a beloved husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Woodall Worley of Clarkesville, Georgia, and two daughters, Tanya Worley Quickel of Hobe Sound, Florida, and Ethelda Worley Peace of North Palm Beach, Florida.
