Gladys Dalton Poole

GLADYS DALTON POOLE, age 85, of Baldwin, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Habersham Medical Center. Mrs. Poole was born on January 14, 1927, in Banks County, Georgia; daughter of the late Archie Bishop and Mary Jane Brock Dalton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Poole; sisters, Ethel Morris and Agnes Poole; and brothers, Archie Lee Dalton, Tom E. Dalton, and Wilton Dalton. Mrs. Poole was a retired seamstress from Carwood Manufacturing Company with 42 years of service. She enjoyed cooking pies to give away, singing, and working in her garden. Mrs. Poole was a member of Line Baptist Church. Survivors include her sister, Edna Gary, Cornelia, GA and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2012, at Line Baptist Church with Rev. Garry Garrison, Rev. Harold Ledford, and Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
