Gertrude Murray Wade

GERTRUDE MURRAY WADE, age 87, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Saturday February 28, 2015 at her son's residence. Mrs.Wade was born in Carnesville, Georgia on May 26, 1927 to the late Judge Murray and Amanda Crump Wade. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Randolph A. Wade; four brothers and six sisters. She was a member of the Level Grove Baptist Church where she was the former secretary of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. Mrs. Wade was a retired employee of Carwood Manufacturing Company with 40 years' service. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Kenneth and Lynell Wade of Cornelia; grandchildren, Chad and Debbie Wade of Cornelia, great-grandson, Zack Wade of Cornelia, and great great-grandson Channing Wade, of Athens, GA. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 PM Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel in Demorest with Rev. Terry Rice and Rev. Tim Tanner officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 1, from 2:00 PM until the funeral hour.
