George "Reynolds" Holcomb

GEORGE "REYNOLDS" HOLCOMB, age 83, of Demorest, Georgia passed away on February 27, 2013, at a local area hospital following a three year period of declining health. Mr. Holcomb was born in White County, Georgia on January 5, 1930, to the late Clarence and Hassie Palmer Holcomb. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Vera Freeman Holcomb, brother, Delmar Holcomb, sisters, Hazel Banks and Pat Minish. Mr. Holcomb was a member of Fairfield Baptist Church. He was a dedicated and loyal employee with Clarkesville Mills until the mill closed with 50 years of service. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Henry Loudermilk, Mt. Airy, Judy and Jerry Ivester, Demorest and Annette and Eddie Scott, Demorest; son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Edna Holcomb, Demorest; sister, Lucille Kinsey, Cleveland; brother, Huel Holcomb, Clermont; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Fairfield Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Allison and Rev. Kenneth Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
