George Howard Mcglennen

GEORGE HOWARD MCGLENNEN, age 90, of Clarkesville, GA, passed away on Friday, September 05, 2008 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. McGlennen was born on June 12, 1918 in Silver Lake, Indiana to the late Howard M. and Mae Dickerhoff McGlennen. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Arema M. McGlennen, his second wife, Dorothy "Dottie" A. McGlennen, and a son, Michael McGlennen. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. Mr. McGlennen was owner of the McGlennen Insurance Agencies with offices in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Tampa, Florida, and Columbus, Ohio. He was past member of the Life Underwriters Association. Survivors include: his wife: Marcile McGlennen, Clarkesville, GA; his daughter and son-in-law: Juliann and Craig Eddy, Alpharetta, GA; his son and daughter-in-law: Howard W. and Kay McGlennen, Jefferson, GA; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 08, 2008 at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Stephens and Rev. Wayne Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday. Mr. McGlennen will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. on Monday to lie in state until the funeral hour. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to The Victory Home, P.O. Box 7, Tallulah Falls, GA 30573. ARRANGEMENTS ARE IN THE CARE OF WHITFIELD FUNERAL HOME, NORTH CHAPEL, DEMOREST, GEORGIA.
