Garrie D. Harrison

GARRIE D. HARRISON, age 68, of Gainesville, GA, died Monday, October 23, 2006 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Harrison was born on May 14, 1938 in Hall County, Georgia to the late Rubush and Julie Crocker Harrison. He was a graduate of South Habersham High School and the Atlanta Law School having earned his Doctorate Degree. Mr. Harrison was a United States Army veteran serving in Korea after the war. He was retired from the City of Atlanta Police Department as Detective with 25 years of service holding an honorary rank of Major. Mr. Harrison was a retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections, Internal Affairs as an Investigator with 17 years of service. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Gainesville Masonic Lodge #219 F & A M and the Gainesville American Legion Post # 0007. Survivors include: his wife: Judy Woodall Harrison, Gainesville, GA; his brother: Erford Harrison, Cleveland, GA; Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with Rev. Paul Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
