Frankie Joe Whiteside, age 59, of Alto, GA, died Friday, May 11, 2007 at a local area hospital. Mr. Whiteside was born on June 6, 1947 in Habersham, Georgia to the late Joe and Lizzic Scroggs Whiteside. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sons, James and Royce Thompson, one sister Mary Jo Allen and a twin brother Jolly Joe Whiteside. He was a member of the Church of Christ and employed with Fieldale. Survivors include: his wife Cora P Whiteside, Alto, GA; one daughter: Jean Franklin, Alto, GA; three sons: Sammy Thompson, Alto, GA, Melvin Thompson, Lula, GA and Bobby Thompson, Cornelia, GA; 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm on Monday May 14, 2007 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA with Rev. Scott Ledbetter, Rev. Tony Royston, and Rev. Lester Haynes will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Baldwin City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 4pm and 7 until 9pm Sunday, May 13, 2007.
