Frances "Fran" Moore Tanner

FRANCES "FRAN" MOORE TANNER, age 65, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013. Mrs. Tanner was born in Habersham County, Georgia on July 13, 1947, to the late John Ferry and Esther Tatham Moore. She received her RN Degree from South Georgia College and was employed as a Registered Nurse for 22 years. Mrs. Tanner was a member of Glade Creek Baptist Church. She was a musician having played both the piano and organ. Survivors include her loving husband of 49 years, Gerald W. Tanner, Mt. Airy; daughter, Carrie Ann Tanner, Douglas; daughter and son-in-law, Sara Lane Martin and Brian Martin, Pooler; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne Avery and Jerrie Tanner, Fitzgerald; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Perry and Travis Perry, Mt. Airy, brother, Lynn Moore, Mt. Airy; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at Glade Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Justus officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia. Arrangements are in the care of Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
