Ford M "Doc" Doss

MR. FORD M. "DOC" DOSS, age 76, of Clarkesville, GA passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2009. Mr. Doss was born in Jackson County, GA on March 7, 1933 to the late George Doss and India Elizabeth Samples Doss. He was also preceded in death by his 1st wife Virginia Watkins and 2nd wife Dorris Doss, brother, Thomas Doss, sister, Mary Lou Mathis and sister-in-law, Evelyn Doss. Mr. Doss was a member of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and a former owner of Doss Plumbing and Electric. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Shirley Doss of Mt. Airy, GA, Todd and Janine Doss, of Mt. Airy, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Melba and Jack Lewis, of Maysville, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Frances Doss, of Maysville, GA; sister-in-law, Maggie Doss, of Maysville, GA; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; step-daughters and step-sons-in-law, Kristy F. and Charles Lockert, of Lawrenceville, GA; Freda and David Church, Sr., of Mt. Airy, GA; step-son-in-law and step-daughter-in-law, Mark and Ronda Chadderdon, Banks County, GA Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 1, 2009 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA with Rev. Trent Smith. Burial will follow in the Oconee Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2009 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA.
