Floranell Pless Allen Purcell

FLORANELL PLESS ALLEN PURCELL, age 97, of Lula, GA, died Sunday, August 27, 2006 at her residence. Mrs. Purcell was born on February 11, 1909 in Hall County, Georgia to the late Rev. S. A. and Indiana Wright Pless. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Lee F. Allen and her second husband, Walter D. Purcell, a son, Harold Allen, sisters, Eula Barrett, Beulah Gilstrap, and Bronez Purcell as well as a brother, Travis Pless. Mrs. Purcell was a homemaker and member of the Enon Baptist Church. Survivors include: her sons and daughters-in-law: Horace and Estelle Allen, Lula, GA; Denver and Florene Allen, Murrayville, GA; step-son and daughter-in-law: Donald and Linda Purcell, Athens, GA; Daughter-in-law: Betty W. Allen, Gainesville, GA; her sisters: Lessie P. Brewer, Gainesville, GA; Doris P. Varville, Washington, DC; her brother: Talmadge Pless, Lula, GA; 3 grandchildren: Lynn Redmon, Dahlonega, GA; Paul and Vickie Stover, Murrayville, GA; Tim and Lisa Allen, Lula, GA; 6 great-grandchildren: Trey and Kimberly Allen, Lula, GA; Logan Allen, Kelsey Allen, and Dane Allen, all of Lula, GA; Ashleigh Wilson and Nikki Redmon, both of Commerce, GA; 1 great-grandchild: McKenzie Allen, Lula, GA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin with Rev. Tim Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in the Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday.
