Flora Neil Black

FLORA NELL BLACK, age 81, of Cornelia, Georgia, died Friday, February 20, 2009 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mrs. Black was born on July 10, 1927 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late Loyd and Aphia Garrison Colston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ladelle Carlan. Mrs. Black was a 45 year member of the Victory Baptist Church and a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class at her church. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include: her husband of 62 years, Charles "Buck" Black, Cornelia, GA; her son and daughter-in-law: Don and Tina Black, Cleveland, GA; her sister: Lois Smith, Demorest, GA; her grandchildren: Ethan Black and Caroline Black, both of Cleveland, GA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2009 from the Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Austin Kelley and Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Shane Jenkins officiating at the graveside. The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia from 6 until 8 p.m. on Saturday.
