Fate Cecil Raby

Fate Cecil Raby, age 81, Turnerville, GA recently of Henderson N.C. and formerly of Franklin, N.C., died Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Oak Heritage Health Care. Mr. Raby was born on July 27, 1925 in Macon County N.C. to the late Charles Danna and Ellie Reeves Raby. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his first wife Lillie Mae Cubbage Raby and widow of Josephine Askew Raby. He was a U.S. Navy W.W. II Veteran and retired Form Carpenter with S.T. Wooten with 30 years of service. Survivors include: one son: Cecil T. Raby, Turnerville; GA and four sisters: Ellen Ray, Franklin, N.C.; Mary Roland, Franklin N.C.; Thelma Welch, Johnson City, T.N.; Grace Maxwell, Danville, V.A.; Two Grandchildren and five Great Grandchildren. A visitation service will be held at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA on Thursday, April 19, 2007 from 7 to 9 pm. Arrangements are in care of Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
