Eula Mae Barrett

EULA CHASTAIN BARRETT, age 74 of Fairview Community, Demorest, GA went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 10, 2009, at Habersham Home East following a period of declining health. Mrs. Barrett was born on December 23, 1934 in Cramerton, North Carolina, to the late Allen R. and Eula Chastain Frady. She was also preceded in death by her husband Carl Barrett, grandparents, Henry B. and Ora S. Chastain. Mrs. Barrett was a member at Habersham Baptist Church for 26 years and a member of the Ladies 3 Sunday School Class. She was employed with Clarkesville Mill for 6 years and then retired from the Habersham County School System with 9 years of service. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Doug Irvin, Demorest, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Lisa Barrett, Demorest, GA; 3 grandchildren and spouses, Christie and Harley Cofield, Dawsonville, GA, Carrie Irvin, Demorest, GA and Robby Barrett, Demorest, GA; 2 great-grandchildren, Hunter and Jacob Cofield, Dawsonville, GA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Pauline England, Blairsville, GA, Lucius and Gaynell Barrett, Young Harris, GA; sisters-in-law, Mary Anne Barrett Warr, Michigan, Nora Barrett, Clarkesville, GA, and Kate Chastain, Hayesville, NC, Bobby Nichols, Clayton, GA and Judy Riddle, Little River, SC, several nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 14, 2009 at the Habersham Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Thomas, Rev. Johnny Thomas and Rev. Russ Barker officiating. Burial will follow in the Habersham Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA.
