Eugene Talmadge Smith

Eugene Talmadge Smith, age 74, of Cleveland, GA, died Thursday, October 4, 2007 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Smith was born on October 18, 1932 in Jackson County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Smith, a son, Robert Smith, and brothers, Jack Smith and L. C. Smith. Mr. Smith was a United States Air Force veteran. He was a retired Baptist minister and a member at Center Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include: his wife: Sarah Casper Smith, Cleveland, GA; his mother: Estelle Hayes Smith, Bethlehem, GA; his daughter: Brenda Smith, Gainesville, GA; his sisters: Carolyn Harris, Bethlehem, GA; Sarah Haygood, Norcross, GA; Martha Lovins, Dacula, GA; Barbara Smith, Bethlehem, GA; his brothers: Steve Smith, Bethlehem, GA; Joe Smith, Lilburn, GA; 4 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2007 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday. Arrangements are in the care of Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
