Ethel P. Free Luthi, age 93, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at a private care facility. Mrs. Luthi was born in Habersham County, Georgia on December 3, 1919, to the late Poke Osborn and Molly York Pruitt. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Clyde Free and the widow of her second husband, Byron Luthi, sons, Eddie and Crawford Free, brothers, Alvin and Hilliard Pruitt, sisters, Jessie Aderholdt, Bessie Trotter, Bernice Watts, and Phillip Moore, and a grandson, Shannon Free. Mrs. Luthi was a homemaker. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Annette Free, Alto; sisters-in-law, Lillian Pruitt, Mt. Airy, and Mary Pruitt, Dalton; special first cousin, Betty Gray, Cornelia; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013, Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Sanford Kimbrell, Rev. Matthew Mote officiating and a special prayer given by grandson, Heath Free. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013, Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
