Ethel Grant Payne

ETHEL GRANT PAYNE, age 87, of Winder, Georgia and formerly of Lilburn, Georgia passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2014. Mrs. Payne was born on December 26, 1926 in Baldwin, Georgia; daughter of the late Alexander Peter and Sudie Chambers Grant. She was also preceded in death by her husband Hershel Alex Payne. Mrs. Payne was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, Georgia and was a retired drafting clerk with Southern Bell Telephone Company with 35 years of dedicated service. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Dan and Donna Payne of Winder, Georgia. Mrs. Payne was the last of her immediate family. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Don Grant. Interment will be in Lane Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2014.
