Ethel Davis Meaders

ETHEL DAVIS MEADERS, age 76, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014. Mrs. Meaders was born on February 23, 1937 in Macon County, North Carolina; daughter of the late Fred Davis and Lillie Pendergrass Davis. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Juanita McElrath, Eloise Davis, Blanch Pendergrass, and Lucy White; brothers, Colen, Clint, and Belve Davis. Mrs. Meaders was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was a retired seamstress with Baldwin Garment Company with 20 years of service. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Zoe A. and David Stillwell, Hayesville, NC; Glenda and Eliseo Brito, Mt. Airy, and daughter Diane Jackson, Gainesville; Son and daughter-in-law Gary and Jan Ewing, Gainesville, son Tommy Cash, Mt. Airy; Step-son Robert Calvin Meaders, California; Sister, Kay Roark, Thomasville, NC; brother Carl Davis, High Point, NC; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, January 10, 2014 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Purcell and Rev. Gerald Adamson officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendly Mission Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
