Estelle Brock Simmons

Estelle Brock Simmons, age 93, of Baldwin, Georgia passed away on Friday, November 26, 2010. Mrs. Simmons was born to the late John and Fannie Higgins Brock on June 28, 1917, in Habersham County, Georgia. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Silvia B. Simmons; sisters, Cora Lee Simmons and Lessie Simmons; and brothers, Roy, Estees, and J.W. Brock. Mrs. Simmons was a retired poultry farmer with 45 years of service and owned and operated Simmons Fish Bait for a number of years. She was the oldest member of Mt. View Baptist Church and a former member of the Georgia Poultry Association. Survivors include her daughters, Jean S. Miller and Brenda Boling, both of Baldwin, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Bevis and Elizabeth Simmons, Winder, GA and Mack and Donna Simmons, Flowery Branch, GA; sister, Addie Lene Segars, Baldwin, GA; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 28, 2010, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA with Rev. Luther Williams and Rev. James Harvey officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA.
