Estell Thomas Tanksley

ESTELL THOMAS TANKSLEY, age 80, of Cornelia, GA passed away on Friday, July 30, 2010. Mrs. Tanksley was born in Jackson County, GA on May 2, 1930, to the late Jasper Newt and Minnie Weaver Thomas. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Tanksley and sons, Roger and Doug Tanksley. Mrs. Tanksley was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in White County and was a homemaker. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Junior Barrett, Cornelia, GA, Wanda and Mike McCurry, Demorest, GA, Trudy and Michael Lackey, Demorest, GA, and Kim and Ron Topper, Cornelia, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Joan Tanksley, Cornelia, GA and Tony and Diane Tanksley, Baldwin, GA ; 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 1, 2010, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA with Rev. Telford Tanksley and Rev. Lester Haynes officiating. Interment will follow in the Level Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 31, 2010, from 6-9 p.m. at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA.
