Ervalee Virginia Cole Long

Ervalee Virginia Young Long, age 77 of Baldwin, Georgia passed away at her residence on Thursday, January 1, 2015 following an extended illness. She was born on March 31, 1937 in Crownsville, Maryland to the late William and Alice A. Brandenburg Cole. She was a member of the Pollard Hill Baptist Church in Kodak, Tennesee. Mrs. Long was a retired nurses' aide. Her greatest joy was being a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Charlie Edward Young, Jr.; daughter, Brenda Lee Young; step-daughter, Crystal Dawn Lawson; and multiple siblings. She is survived by her husband, Samuel David Long of the home; daughters, Mildred Davis of Severna Park, MD, Nancy Johnson of Dallas, TX, Deborah Young of Garland, TX, Darlene Blades of Dallas, TX; step-daughters, Rhonda Crump of Toccoa, GA, and Renitia Rohletter of Walhalla, SC; sons, Donald Young of Short Hills, NJ, Edward Young of Marietta, GA, Troy Young of San Antonio, TX; step-sons, Randall Long of Commerce, GA, Richard Long of Las Vegas, NV; 16 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 5, 2015 at 4:00 PM at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel in Baldwin with Rev. Thomas Blackwell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 until the funeral hour.
