Emma Marie Cox

EMMA MARIE COX, age 73, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at a local area hospital following an extended illness. Miss Cox was born on February 1, 1939, in Madison, North Carolina; daughter of the late John and Bessie Mae Robertson Cox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Cox and her sisters, Mary Elizabeth Cox Clark, Ruth Cox Carter, and Evelyn Cox Clark. Miss Cox retired from the Toccoa Record and was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church. Survivors include her sisters, Frances Cox Price, Clarkesville, GA and Josephine Cox Gunter, Cornelia, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Deacon Richard Marinchak officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour on Monday.
