Elsie Holland Simpson

Elsie Holland Simpson, age 96, of Mt. Airy, died Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at a private health care facility. Mrs. Simpson was born on January 20, 1911 in Banks County to the late Walter and Della Mae Greenway Holland. She was also preceded in death by her husband Clarence E Simpson. Mrs. Simpson was the last of her immediate family. She was a homemaker and a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter: Betty S. Ledford, Mt. Airy, GA; sons: Glenn Simpson, Mableton, GA, Carl Simpson, Douglasville, GA, Neal Simpson, Mt. Airy, GA, Jimmy Simpson, Jacksonville, FL; 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at Hazel Creek Baptist Church at 2:30 pm on Saturday, December 8, 2007 with Rev. Billy Burrell, Rev. Luther Williams, and Rev. Gene Moore will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA at 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 on Friday, December 7, 2007.
