Eloise Meeks Smith

Eloise Meeks Smith, age 83, of Gainesville, Georgia, formerly of Cornelia, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 16, 2019. Mrs. Smith was born on May 16, 1935, in Homer, Georgia, to the late William H. and Loay J. Garrison Meeks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred C. Smith and sister, Edith Bonds. Mrs. Smith was of the Congregational Holiness faith and a homemaker. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Mark Holden of Jefferson; son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Nancy Simmons of Baldwin; sister, Carolyn Thomas Mulkey of Alto; four grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 22, 2019, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia, with Rev. Tony Elrod officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 am until the service hour on Monday, at the funeral home.
