ELNORA NICHOLS BURCH, age 87, of Demorest, Georgia, died Sunday, November 16, 2008 at a private care facility following an extended illness. Mrs. Burch was born on September 23, 1921 in Towns County, Georgia to the late Ciscero and Lilly Thomas Nichols. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Burch. She was a member of the Fairfield Baptist Church. Mrs. Burch was retired from Carwood Manufacturing with 20 years of service. She was a homemaker and was well-known for her biscuits and banana pudding. Mrs. Burch was the last member of her immediate family. Survivors include: her daughters and sons-in-law: Betty and James Souther and Sylvia and Gary Taylor, all of Demorest, Georgia; her son and daughter-in-law: O.C. and Geneva Burch, Cleveland, GA; her grandchildren: Tony and Julia Souther and Lynn and Nathan Carter, all of Demorest, GA; Heather and Greg Nix, Cleveland, GA; Lisa and David Allen, Dawsonville, GA; her great-grandchildren: Andrew and Lauren McCay, Jordon and Hannah Carter, all of Demorest, GA; Sarah and Allie Nix, Cleveland, GA; Peyton and Gracie Allen, Dawsonville, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 from the Fairfield Baptist Church with Rev. Donald Grizzle, Rev. Keith Allison, and Rev. Clifford Allen officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
