Ellen Smith Lewallen

Ellen Lewallen, age 56, of Baldwin, GA died Friday, December 21, 2007 at a regional medical center. Mrs. Lewallen was born on September 5, 1951 in Banks County to the late John Henry "Bill" Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth Lewallen. Mrs. Lewallen was a graduate of Banks County High School. She was employed as service representative with Windstream Telecommunications with 12 years of service. Mrs Lewallen was a member of the Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include her mother: Hazel Lewallen Smith, Baldwin; son: Barry Kenneth Lewallen, Baldwin; sister Gail Smith Kelley, Baldwin; brother Don Smith, Cornelia, and Harry Smith, Baldwin; adopted sons: Dean and Trent Ayers, both of Homer; "special friend" James Ayers, Homer; and 5 grandchilren. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 23, 2007 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA with Elder Terrell Simmons and Elder Kenny Kilby will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at the funeral home from 7-9 pm.
