Ella Mae Stamey

Ella Mae Stamey, age 77, of Demorest, Georgia, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017. Mrs. Stamey was born on February 16, 1940, in Clayton, Georgia; a daughter of the late John and Jessie Mae Stancil. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Stamey; son, Eddie Stamey; brothers, Carl Stancil and Sam Stancil; and sister, Myrtle Ledford. Mrs. Stamey was of the Baptist faith. She was a very loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Survivors include her daughters: Teresa Ochoa of Demorest, June Bagwell of Travelers Rest, SC, and Jamie Cannon of Westminster, SC; sons: Claude Stamey of Demorest, James Hopkins of Cornelia, and Ricky Hopkins of Gainesville; sister, Elizabeth Jordan of Cornelia; brother, Johnny Stancil of Cornelia; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
