Elizabeth Ostine Wilbanks

ELIZABETH OSTINE SMITH WILBANKS, age 93, of Hwy 105, Baldwin, GA, died Sunday, December 02, 2007. Mrs. Wilbanks was born on February 6, 1914 in Banks County, Georgia to the late Logan Sylvester, Sr. and Lena Stephens Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, her husband, Telford R. Wilbanks, daughter, Priscilla Waters, grandson, Kevin Galloway, sister, Isabel Ervin and brothers, Bruce, Happy, and Clayton Smith. She was a graduate of Baldwin High School and was a member of the Broad River Baptist Church. Mrs. Wilbanks was a retired teacher with the Habersham County School System with several years of service. She was a member of the AARP and the Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include: her daughters: Paula Haynes Hudgins, Gainesville, GA; Sylvia Mason, Baldwin, GA; Elaine Maxwell, Americus, GA; Joan Bradley, Rockmart, GA; Leila McDowell, Gainesville, GA; Phyllis Johnson and Rosemary Williams, both of Baldwin, GA; Karen Graves, Fayetteville, GA; her sons: Ronnie Wilbanks, Charlotte, NC; Stephen Wilbanks, Baldwin, GA; Tim Wilbanks, Naples, FL; her sister: Annie Ruth Wilbanks, Baldwin, GA; 28 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 from the Broad River Baptist Church with Dr. Michael Haynes, Dr. Dwayne Mercer, and Rev. Ray Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Steve Loeffler officiating at the graveside. The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday.
