Edna Mcginnes Fryer

EDNA MCGINNES FRYER, age 92, of Mt. Airy, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at a local private care facility. Mrs. Fryer was born on July 27, 1918, in Big Rock, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Edwin and Daisy Jane Walker McGinnes. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fryer was preceded in death by her husband, Hardy Fryer. She was a retired teacher having worked at several church Child Daycare programs, having also studied at New Orleans Baptist Seminary. Mrs. Fryer had a deep passion and was very involved with the Homebound Ministry Program. She was a member of Clarkesville Baptist Church. For many years, Mr. and Mrs. Fryer lived in College Park where they were members of the Meadows Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons, David Fryer, Richmond, VA and Charles Fryer, Doraville, GA and 5 grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Rev. Grady Walden officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
