Edith Turner Davidson, age 78, of Alto, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2016. Mrs. Davidson was born on February 10, 1938, in Habersham County, Georgia, to the late Edgar Everett and Bessie Thomas Turner. She was also preceded in death by her husband: Huewell Davidson; brothers: L.C. Turner and Hermas "Bud" Turner; sisters: Delga Smith, LaRue Bryant, and Vernell Whitworth; son-in-law: Glenn Armour; and a special niece: Jennifer Smith Garrett. Mrs. Davidson retired from Short Manufacturing and was formerly employed with Carwood Manufacturing. She also helped her daughter, Denise, at Shore's County Store. Edith was a member of B.C. Grant Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Denise and Gary Smith, Cornelia; daughters: Cathy Armour, Cornelia, Tammy Davidson, Alto, and Joan Walters, Alto; grandchildren: Matthew Ramey, Clarkesville, Joshua Armour, Scottsboro, AL, Caleb Gilmer, Homer, and Madalyn Walters, Eastanollee; seven great-grandchildren; and special niece: Jean Priest, Canton. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Friday, September 16, 2016, at B.C. Grant Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Lee Mitchell and Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
