Earl Robinson, Sr.

EARL ROBINSON, SR., age 84, of Cornelia, Georgia died Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Atlanta Medical Center. Mr. Robinson was born on January 29, 1924 in Stephens County, Georgia to the late Fain and Mammie Tomlin Robinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Dill Robinson, a son, Larry Robinson, sisters, Catherine Roberts and Bessie Robinson, as well as a half-brother, J. D. Robinson. 51 years ago, Earl began his career with Stovall Motor Company in Cornelia, as a sales representative for new and used automobile sales. He continued with the dealership, which is now Cain Ford/Lincoln/Mercury, where he was a dedicated employee until his death. Mr. Robinson was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: his daughter: Phyllis Gauthier, Haynes, Arkansas; his sons: Earl Robinson, Jr., Cornelia, GA; Mickey Robinson, Alto, GA; his sister: Anna Belle Harrington, Cornelia, GA; his brothers: Alfred Robinson, Eugene Robinson, and S. C. Robinson, all of Cornelia, GA; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2008 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Billy Burrell and Dr. Jim Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday.
