Drucilla Ivester Barrett, age 81, of Cornelia, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021 at Habersham Home West following an extended illness. Born April 24, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Garnet and Cara Turpin Ivester. She was a homemaker and pastor’s wife for the majority of her life. She served congregations, alongside her husband, in Hiawassee, Greensboro, Hogansville, Canon, Union Point, and Baldwin. She worked outside the home as a textile’s inspector for Tugaloo River Boxer Company in Toccoa for several years. She was voted the “Neatest Person” in her 1956 South Habersham High School Graduating Class. Mrs. Barrett was a member of New Vision Worship Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers: Lester Ivester, William Ivester, Lamar Ivester, Abraham Ivester, and Frank Ivester; sister: Sally Erwin; and granddaughter: Kristie Umbehant. She is survived by her husband of 65 years: Rev. Johnny Barrett; daughters and sons-in-law: Teresa & Mickey Umbehant, Tammy & Mike Murray, Melissa & David Klopschinski; sister: Frances Erwin; grandchildren: Courtney Umbehant (Natalie), Summer O’Kelly (Devin), Autumn Brown (Timmy), Mason Murray (Rebekah), Jeremy Dooley (Lacie), Taylor McGahee (Kaleb), and Nicholas Klopschinski (Alexis); great grandchildren: Noah and Olivia Umbehant, Colby, Liana, and Trenton O’Kelly, Landon, Jackson, Walker, and Emmalyn Brown, Lily, Ella Rose, and Charlie Dooley, Hunter, John Thomas, Kolt, and Gabriel McGahee; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 12, 2021 at New Vision Worship Center in Baldwin with Rev. Devin O’Kelly, Rev. Courtney Umbehant, and Rev. Mickey Umbehant officiating. Burial will follow in Level Grove Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Mitchell officiating.
