Douglas Charlie Tanksley

Douglas Charlie Tanksley, age 56, of Demorest, GA passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010. Mr. Tanksley was born on November 29, 1953, in Habersham County, GA to Estelle Thomas Tanksley and the late Charlie Lewis Tanksley. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Roger Tanksley. Mr. Tanksley was of the Baptist faith. Survivors in addition to his mother include, his daughter, Amy Tanksley, Cornelia, GA; his son, Chad Tanksley, Cornelia, GA; his sisters, Wanda McCurry, Demorest, GA, Linda Barrett, Cornelia, GA, Kim Topper, Demorest, GA, and Trudy Lackey, Demorest, GA; and his brothers, Tony Tanksley, Baldwin, GA and David Tanksley, Cornelia, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Telford Tanksley and Rev. Phil Yarber officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA.
