Douglas Dwayne Purdy Sr.

Douglas Dwayne Purdy, Sr., age 56, of Commerce, GA died Sunday, February 24, 2008 from injuries following an automobile accident. Mr. Purdy, was born in Fulton County, GA on April 25, 1951. He was preceded in death by his mother, Vivian Clara Parker Purdy and his brother, Richard Troy Purdy. Mr. Purdy was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam conflict. He was employed with Carrier Transicold, Athens, GA. Survivors include his father, Leonard Lee Purdy, Sr. Commerce, GA, sons, Douglas Dwayne Purdy Jr. and Christopher Ryan Purdy, both of Commerce, GA, brothers, Larry Wayne Purdy, Sr. and Leonard Lee Purdy Jr., both of Commerce, GA, and Johnny David Purdy, Winder, GA. The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA. The visitation will be the only service held.
