DOUGLAS HOWARD LAND, age 46, of Acworth, GA, died Thursday, July 6, 2006 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mr. Land was born on June 11, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois. He was preceded in death by a son, David Lee Land and his grandparents. Mr. Land was a metal building contractor and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: his wife: Janice Sue Land, Acworth, GA; his mother and step-father: Rosine and Donald Rosecrans, Lula, GA; Daughter: Kelli Marie Land, Snellville, GA; Son: Douglas Howard "D.J." Land, II, Snellville, GA; Step-son: Adam Raffield, Acworth, GA; Sister: Terri Michele Land, Austell, GA; Brothers: Charles Foster Smith, Acworth, GA; James Edward Smith, Alto, GA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2006 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin with Rev. Grady Saxon officiating. Burial will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2006.
