Dorsey Chitwood

Issac Dorsey Chitwood, age 62, of Alto, Georgia, died Saturday, June 23, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Chitwood was born on November 10, 1944 in Habersham County to the late Joe M. and Ethel Louise Forrester Chitwood. He was also preceded in death by his wife: JoAnn Wall Chitwood. He was a graduate of South Habersham High School and North Georgia Tech. Mr. Chitwood retired from being a wonderful carpenter for many years. He was a member of Cool Springs United Methodist Church. Survivors include: two sons and daughter-in-law: Bryant and Shannon Chitwood, Cornelia, GA, Joey Chitwood, Atlanta, GA; two brothers: Billy Joe Rainwater, Jefferson City, TN, John Green, Mt. Airy, GA; Mother-in-law: Mae Ayers, Otto, NC. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 from Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA with Rev. Larry Cannon officiating. Burial will follow in the Level Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, June 25, 2007. Flowers are accepted.
