Dorothy Grier Ward

DOROTHY GRIER WARD, age 77, of Alto, GA, died Tuesday, February 06, 2007 at the Habersham Home. Mrs. Ward was born on March 15, 1929 in Hall County, Georgia to the late Alvin Britton and Belle Armour Grier. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ward was also preceded in death by her brothers, Odis Grier, Dillard Grier and Wiley Grier. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Survivors include: her husband, John D. Ward, Alto, GA; Special Niece: Patricia Sullens, Alto, GA; sisters: Geraldine Grier, Alto, GA; Ruth Swann, Clifton Forge, VA; brothers: A.M. Grier, Alvin Grier, Jr., Van Grier, Roy Grier, and E. D. Grier all of Alto, GA; Garnett Grier, Lula, GA; Charles Lemmuel Grier, Atlanta, GA; Numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2007 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Woodrow Hix officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove UM Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
