Dillard James Pruitt

DILLARD JAMES PRUITT, age 73 of Demorest, GA passed away on December 24, 2008 following an extended illness. Mr. Pruitt was born in Franklin County, Georgia on April 12, 1935 to the late Ralph and Janey Ruth Means Pruitt. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Millard and Joel Pruitt. Mr. Pruitt was a member of Nails Creek Baptist Church and a life time member of the V.F.W. He was US Army veteran and was a retired correctional officer with Lee Arrendale Correctional Institute. Survivors include wife, Martha Pruitt, Demorest; Connie White, Demorest; son, Tony Pruitt, Buford; brothers, Wallace Pruitt, Commerce, Dempsey Pruitt, Homer and Steve Pruitt, Carnesville; 2 grandchildren India White and Haley White. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2008 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest with Rev. Duane Eller officiating. Burial will follow in the Nails Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel at 12:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2008.
