DEWEY PARTRIDGE, age 80, of Cornelia, GA passed away, Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Oak Heritage at Scenic View Nursing Home following an extended illness. Born in Halifax County, North Carolina, on February 12, 1929, he was a son of the late William Columbus and Jennie Mae Vandenburgh Partridge. A native of Pell City, Alabama, Mr. Partridge served our country proudly in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II and also during the Berlin Air Lift. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and the Stone Masonic Lodge # 715 F& A.M. in Gainesville, GA. Mr. Partridge was the founder of Parr Industries in Baldwin, GA. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters. Mr. Partridge is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Alma C. Partridge, Cornelia; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Polly Partridge, Easley, S.C. and Mike and Grapelle Partridge, Cornelia, GA; daughter, Sandy Herman, Greenwood, S.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Reed Jones, Clayton, GA. 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA with the Rev. Paul Morris, and Rev. Maitland LaForce officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with full Masonic Honors provided by the Stone Masonic Lodge # 715 F&A.M.
