Demmie Lucille Shirley Mason

DEMMIE LUCILLE SHIRLEY MASON, age 81, of Mt. Airy, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, October 1 2013. Mrs. Mason was born on November 24, 1931, in Cornelia, Georgia; daughter of the late William T. and Margie Arflin Shirley. She was also preceded in death by her husband Robert Swayne Mason; brothers, Wayne Shirley, Ronnie Shirley, and Billy Shirley. Mrs. Mason was a member of Mud Creek Baptist Church. She was a long time employee with Orbit Manufacture; she was also the owner-operator of the Ladies Sportswear Outlet. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Robert Kenneth and Susan Mason, Cumming; sisters, Christine Pritchett, Cornelia, Virginia Chastain, Cleveland; brothers, Charles Shirley, Mt. Airy and Bill Shirley, Commerce. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Larry Whitfield officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2013.
