David L. Woodberry

David L. Woodberry, Jr. died Saturday, October 17, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at Juliette United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Reverend Stanley Harrell will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM, Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Mr. Woodberry was born July 11, 1931, in Baltimore, Maryland. His parents, Col. David L. Woodberry, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Witler Woodberry and his sisters, Doris and Peggy preceded him in death. He retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections. Mr. Woodberry was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Juliette United Methodist Church, a member of High Falls American Legion and an associate member of Vietnam Veterans. Survivors include his wife, Sue Woodberry of Juliette, children, Vivian Woodberry McLendon and her husband Bill of Alpharetta, David Woodberry and his wife Wanda of Juliette, sister, Joan Foote of Fernandina Beach, Florida, grandchildren, Garrett McLendon, Kristina McLendon, Amanda Wooten and her husband Rick, Suzanne Woodberry, Matthew Woodberry, Amanda Benfield and her husband Clay and Saralyn Gregory, great grandson, Erik Benfield. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Juliette United Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 39, Juliette, GA 31046. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
