David Thongthip Khamvilay

DAVID THONGTHIP KHAMVILAY, age 54, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Mr. Khamvilay was born on February 12, 1957, in Laos, to the late Lee and Khai Khamvilay. He was employed with Mt. Vernon Mills with 26 years of service. Mr. Khamvilay was a member of the Wat Lao Buddha Sattha Temple and a member of the Lao Families Association of Habersham County. Survivors include his wife, Chomsy Khamvilay, Cornelia, GA; sons, Billy Khamvilay, Demorest, GA and John Khamvilay, Cornelia, GA; sisters, Noundy Khamvilay, Fresno, CA, Keo Luangviseth, Fresno, CA, and Ae Luangviseth, Laos; brothers, Bounmy Khamvilay and Boun Khamvilay, both of Laos; and one grandchild, Karissa Lia Khamvilay. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with the Monks from the Wat Lao Buddha Sattha Temple officiating. The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
