Darris Evans Kinney

Mrs. Darris Evans Kinney, age 87, of Mt. Airy, GA, died Monday, January 11, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Kinney was born on November 28, 1922 in Jackson County, Georgia to the late Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Jackson Evans. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, N.B. Bernas Kinney. Mrs. Kinney attended the Central Heights Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Survivors include: her son: James Kinney, Mt. Airy, GA; her grandson: Mark Kinney, Mt. Airy, GA; her great-granddaughter, Autumn Kinney, Mt. Airy, GA. She was the last member of her immediate family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2009 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with Rev. Wayne Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the North Chapel from 7 until 9 p.m. on Tuesday. Arrangements are in the care of Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
